Primary Purpose:

 

Follow routine procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and appearance  of building floors.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Certification:

High School diploma or GED

Valid Texas drivers license

 

Specail Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to read and understand written instructions.

Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment.

Ability to handle cleaning supplies properly.

Flexibility in work hours.

 

Experience:

Two to five years in floor care experience

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

 

1.  Maintain a cleaning schedule that insures all floors have a quality appearance.

2.  Keep assigned areas neat and clean.

3.  Properly dispose of waste material.

4.  Report any unsafe equipment conditionsto supervisor.

5.  Store equipment in a safe, neat manner.

6.  Notify supervisor of supply and equipment needs.

7.  Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, and climbing, etc.

8.  Move furniture/equipment as required.

9.  Assist in setting up facilities for special events

 

Equipment Used:

 

Buffer, stripper, wet and dry vacuum cleaner, shampooer, mops, mop buckets, custodial cart, burnisher, dust mop, solution pick-up machine, and extractor.

 

Working Conditions:

 

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Frequent walking, standing, lifting, and carrying heavy loads.  Work inside/outside on slippery walking surfaces.  Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials.
